Manajemen Kesiswaan dalam Pengembangan Minat dan Bakat Melalui Program Ekstrakulikuler (Penelitian di MAN 1 Garut)

Student management plays a strategic role in developing students' potential, particularly through extracurricular programs as a means of fostering their interests and talents. This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, evaluation, and challenges of student management in developing students' interests and talents through extracurricular programs at MAN 1 Garut. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which consists of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that extracurricular program planning is conducted collaboratively by the principal, the vice principal for student affairs, and teachers at the beginning of the academic year, followed by its introduction to students through the Masa Ta'aruf Siswa Madrasah (MATSAMA) orientation program. The implementation of extracurricular activities has been carried out according to the established schedules for each program. Program evaluation is conducted regularly through the Joint Deliberation Meeting (Musyawarah Gabungan or MUSGAB) to assess the effectiveness of program implementation and development. The main challenges include the suboptimal administration of student affairs, particularly in preparing reports and managing correspondence to facilitate communication with parents. The study concludes that well-planned, organized, and continuously evaluated student management contributes significantly to the development of students' interests and talents through extracurricular programs.
