Bullying Di Sekolah; Masalah Yang Tak Kunjung Usai

Abstract

Bullying is the misuse of power carried out intentionally and repeatedly to hurt or pressure someone weaker, whether physically, verbally, or psychologically. It becomes a serious problem because it harms students’ physical and mental health and affects their academic development. Data from SIMFONI-PPA, Komnas PA, and KPAI show that violence against children in educational settings remains high and continues to occur. Research indicates that bullying is influenced by several factors, including individual characteristics, family conditions, the school environment, and peer interactions. Bullying can lead to long-term trauma and increase the risk of suicide for victims. To prevent it, the entire school community must work together through awareness programs, victim support, rule enforcement, teacher role-modeling, student empowerment, and proper guidance for perpetrators. In short, bullying violates social and religious norms and must be addressed seriously to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
