Abstract

Amid the turbulence of modern life filled with pressures and uncertainties, mental health has become an increasingly prominent issue. Many individuals experience anxiety, a loss of direction, and even emotional emptiness. In Islamic teachings, prayer (ṣalāh) is not merely a ritual act of worship, but also a spiritual practice capable of bringing peace to the soul. This article explores the relationship between the quality of prayer and psychological stability from the perspective of the Qur’an. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach and thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhū‘ī), this study examines verses such as Surah Al-Mu’minun: 1–2, Al-Baqarah: 45–46, and Ar-Ra’d: 28, while reflecting on them through the lens of Islamic psychology. The findings indicate that prayer, when performed with humility, awareness, and consistency, has a significant impact in fostering inner calm, emotional balance, and psychological resilience. Prayer thus serves as a form of spiritual therapy that helps heal emotional wounds and strengthen one’s mental fortitude in facing life’s challenges. This research emphasizes the importance of internalizing the values of prayer as a foundation for building mental well-being among Muslims in today’s era.
