Abstract

This study examines the implementation and effectiveness of the Iqro' Method in improving Al-Qur'an reading skills among students at MTs Sirojul Athfal Karadenan, Cibinong, Bogor. This research is motivated by the challenges of heterogeneous Al-Qur'an reading proficiencies among adolescent students in formal educational institutions. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then interactively analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the graded volume structure of the Iqro' Method effectively functions as an inclusive instrument that bridges the gaps in students' reading capacities. The learning process, which integrates classical conditioning and individualized guidance, provides intensive and immediate feedback. The implementation of this method delivers a holistic positive impact, not only enhancing students' technical skills (fluency, makhraj accuracy, and basic tajwid comprehension) but also reconstructing affective dimensions by fostering self-confidence, self-regulated learning, and internal motivation. This study concludes that the Iqro' Method successfully provides a humanistic, equitable, and adaptive Al-Qur'an learning ecosystem tailored to adolescent student development in madrasahs.
