Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ moral character at MI Ma’arif Tabanan Bali. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included PAI teachers, the school principal, and students. The results show that PAI teachers play a significant role in moral development as educators, mentors, role models, and motivators. The strategies applied include exemplary behavior, habituation, giving advice, and conducting regular religious activities. These strategies have been proven to improve students’ discipline, politeness, and awareness in practicing religious obligations. However, there are still some obstacles, such as lack of family support and negative influences from the external environment. Therefore, collaboration among schools, parents, and the community is necessary to optimize students’ moral development
