Peran Kepemimpinan Kepala Madrasah dalam Meningkatkan Profesionalisme Guru di Madrasah Aliyah

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of madrasah principal leadership in improving teacher professionalism in Madrasah Aliyah. The background of this study is based on the importance of madrasah principal leadership as a key factor in improving the quality of human resources, especially teachers as the main implementers of the educational process. Teacher professionalism is one of the main indicators in determining the quality of education in madrasah. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects include madrasah principals and teachers in Madrasah Aliyah. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the role of madrasah principal leadership in improving teacher professionalism is carried out through several strategies, namely: (1) providing motivation and role models, (2) implementing regular academic supervision, (3) facilitating teacher competency development through training and workshops, and (4) creating a conducive and religious work environment. Supporting factors include teacher commitment and institutional support, while inhibiting factors include limited facilities and infrastructure and high teacher workloads. The conclusion of this study shows that madrasah principal leadership has a very significant role in improving teacher professionalism. Therefore, visionary, communicative, and innovative leadership is needed to encourage improvements in the quality of education at Madrasah Aliyah.
