Abstract

The family is the first educational institution that plays an important role in the formation of children's character. Qur'anic family education emphasizes the instilling of Qur'anic values ​​such as honesty, responsibility, compassion, discipline, and role models as the basis for the formation of Islamic character. This study aims to analyze the influence of Qur'anic family education on the formation of Islamic character of students at Uswatun Hasanah Islamic Elementary School, Jambi City. The study used a quantitative approach with an associative design and a Likert scale questionnaire instrument of 1–5 consisting of 25 items for the Qur'anic family education variable (X) and 25 items for the Islamic character variable (Y). The study population was 101 students in grades 5–6 of Uswatun Hasanah Islamic Elementary School, all of whom were respondents. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and inferentially using normality test, linearity test, and Pearson correlation with the help of SPSS 27. The results of descriptive analysis showed that Qur'anic family education was in the very good category with an average total score of 92.10 (range 39–100) and an index of 91.84%, while Islamic character was also in the very good category with an average total score of 108.52 (range 68–125) and an index of 86.89%. The results of the linearity test showed a significant linear relationship between Qur'anic family education and Islamic character (F linearity = 115.192; p = 0.000; deviation from linearity p = 0.380). Hypothesis testing with Pearson correlation obtained a coefficient of r = 0.730 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.01), so there is a strong and significant positive relationship between Qur'anic family education and students' Islamic character.
