Strategi Kepemimpinan Kepala Madrasah dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan Islam (Studi Kualitatif di MTs Negeri 2 Lampung Selatan)

This study aims to analyze the leadership strategies of the madrasa principal in improving the quality of Islamic education at MTs Negeri 2 Lampung Selatan. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects included the madrasa principal, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the principal’s leadership strategies in improving the quality of Islamic education are implemented through several approaches, namely visionary leadership, teacher competency development, strengthening religious culture, participatory management, and the management of facilities and infrastructure. Visionary leadership is reflected in a clear vision integrating academic aspects and Islamic values. Teacher competency is enhanced through training, supervision, and teacher working groups (MGMP). Religious culture is fostered through routine religious activities that positively influence students’ character. Participatory management involves all members of the madrasa in decision-making, while proper facilities and infrastructure management supports a conducive learning environment.
