Abstract

This study aims to examine public satisfaction with the performance of the Minister of Education during President Joko Widodo’s administration within the working area of Dapil V, Probolinggo Regency. Public satisfaction constitutes a critical metric for evaluating the effectiveness of educational policy implementation and citizen engagement in educational development processes. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires, in-depth interviews with key informants, and participatory observations to obtain a comprehensive empirical perspective. Analytical procedures employed descriptive statistical methods and data visualization to map public perception distributions. Findings reveal that overall public satisfaction ranges from moderate to high (mean score 3.8/5), with primary determinants encompassing program effectiveness, quality of public communication, and responsiveness to community needs. Nevertheless, public communication remains an area requiring optimization to enhance societal understanding and engagement with educational policies. These findings contribute theoretically to the understanding of the relationship between public officials’ performance and societal perception, and provide practical implications for evidence-based policy formulation and the design of more effective educational programs.
