Perkembangan Pendidikan Islam Pada Masa Dinasti Abbasiyah

Islamic education during the Abbasid Dynasty represents one of the most significant periods in the history of Islamic civilization, marked by remarkable advancements in knowledge and educational institutions. This study aims to examine the development of Islamic education during the Abbasid era and its contribution to the advancement of knowledge. The research employed a library research method using a descriptive qualitative approach through the analysis of books, scholarly journals, and other relevant sources. The findings reveal that educational progress was supported by socio-political stability, the caliphs’ strong commitment to intellectual activities, and the growth of educational institutions such as kuttab, mosques, madrasahs, libraries, and Bayt al-Hikmah. The integration of religious and rational sciences within the curriculum fostered a strong intellectual tradition and significantly contributed to the development of Islamic and global knowledge.
