This study aims to design a small-island-based Islamic Ecopedagogy Model for primary and secondary education in Wakatobi. It employs a conceptual-design approach through a review of articles published from 2021 to 2026 on ecopedagogy, Islamic education, environmental education, and the ecology of Wakatobi. The study resulted in the Islamic Ecopedagogy Model for Primary and Secondary Education in Wakatobi, or MIEK-Dikdasmen Wakatobi, which integrates small-island ecology, Islamic values, place-based learning, action projects, and community collaboration. The model consists of ecological literacy, reflection on the values of tawhid, amanah, khalifah, mizan, rahmah, maslahah, and adl, exploration of local environmental problems, school-based actions, and authentic assessment. The learning syntax includes problem orientation, local ecological exploration, Islamic reflection, critical analysis, community collaboration, action projects, and dissemination. This study concludes that MIEK-Dikdasmen Wakatobi has the potential to strengthen students’ environmental literacy, ecological character, and conservation participation in elementary/Islamic elementary schools, junior secondary/Islamic junior secondary schools, senior secondary/Islamic senior secondary schools, and vocational schools.
