Abstract

This study aims to improve students' environmental awareness through ecotheology-based Qur'an and Hadith learning in class X A of MA Plus Sunan Drajat Palang for the 2025/2026 academic year. The research employed Classroom Action Research using the Kemmis and McTaggart model consisting of two cycles: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data were collected through environmental awareness questionnaires and observation sheets. The results showed that in cycle I students’ environmental awareness was still in the moderate category. After improving the strategy in cycle II using a more contextual approach, the percentage of students achieving good and very good categories increased and met the classical success indicator of ≥80%. Therefore, ecotheology-based Qur'an and Hadith learning effectively improves students’ environmental awareness.
