Abstract

This study aims to examine the professional competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in improving the quality of learning evaluation implementation at UPT SDN 02 Setianegara Way Kanan Lampung. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects included PAI teachers, the principal, and related parties. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation.  The results indicate that the professional competence of PAI teachers in implementing learning evaluation is relatively good. Teachers are able to design and implement evaluations through various forms such as written tests, oral assessments, and assignments. However, the evaluation process is still dominated by cognitive aspects, while affective and psychomotor aspects have not been optimally assessed. In addition, the use of evaluation results for reflection and follow-up actions such as remedial and enrichment programs is still limited. Therefore, it is necessary to improve teachers’ professional competence, particularly in developing more varied evaluation techniques and optimizing the use of evaluation results to enhance the quality of learning
