Pendidikan Islam Sebagai Sarana Penguatan Karakter Moderat Pada Generasi Muda Di Era Digital

Digital transformation has influenced how young people acquire knowledge, communicate, and understand religious teachings. This development creates opportunities for Islamic education while also presenting challenges, including religious misinformation, intolerance, hate speech, and extreme religious understanding. This article aims to examine the contribution of Islamic education to strengthening moderate character among young people in the digital era. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through library research. Data sources include books, scholarly articles, policy documents, and relevant literature on Islamic education, religious moderation, character education, and digital literacy. The data were analyzed through information identification, thematic classification, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Islamic education plays an important role in instilling the values of tawasuth, tawazun, i‘tidal, tasamuh, deliberation, and social responsibility. These values can be strengthened through contextual learning, teacher role modeling, dialogue, religious digital literacy, and the habituation of moderate attitudes. Therefore, Islamic education can foster a religious, critical, tolerant, and responsible younger generation.
