Abstract

This research aims to understand how the role of teachers in teaching educational ethical values to 1st grade students at MI Tarbiyatul Islam. This research focuses on the importance of teaching ethical values from an early age so that students can have a good character, such as polite, disciplined, honest, and responsible. Teachers have a very important role in shaping the character of students. Besides teaching, teachers also become an example for students in their daily lives at school. This research is a qualitative research that uses a descriptive approach. As a research source, the first grade teacher was interviewed to collect data. This research was conducted through interviews that talked about the role of teachers, habituation styles, obstacles, and teacher-parent collaboration. Next, the data obtained is analyzed descriptively to get an idea of how moral values are instilled in students. Research shows that teachers play a very important role in instilling moral values in grade 1 students. Moral values are instilled through example, familiarization, guidance, and the application of discipline in school. Saying hello, praying before studying, speaking politely, maintaining cleanliness, and respecting teachers and friends are some examples of habits that are done. In addition, this study shows that most students respond well to the implementation of educational ethics, but there are several obstacles, such as differences in student character and environmental influences. In addition, teacher-parent cooperation is very important to build student character.
