Keywords:
Information Technology, Learning Media, Islamic Religious EducationAbstract
This study aims to examine the role and development of information technology as a learning medium in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in the digital era. The research problem arises from the dominance of conventional IRE learning that has not optimally utilized technology. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research design. Data were collected from books, national and international journal articles, and relevant academic documents, which were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that information technology plays a significant role in enhancing the effectiveness, flexibility, and attractiveness of IRE learning through interactive and contextual media. Furthermore, the use of information technology encourages a shift in teachers’ roles toward learning facilitators. Therefore, the integration of information technology in IRE learning should be systematically designed and aligned with educational objectives.
