Peran Kepala Sekolah Sebagai Fasilitator dalam Mendukung Kinerja Guru Di SD Negeri 160 Palembang

This study aims to analyze the role of the school principal as a facilitator in supporting teacher performance at SD Negeri 160 Palembang. This study is motivated by the importance of the school principal’s role in improving the quality of education through support for teachers in carrying out their teaching duties. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a field case study method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation with the school principal, teachers, school supervisors, and the school committee as research informants. Data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using source triangulation to test data validity. The research results indicate that the principal at SD Negeri 160 Palembang has optimally fulfilled their role through functions as an administrator, manager, supervisor, leader, innovator, and motivator. The principal plays a role in managing school administration, organizing educational resources, supervising the learning process, setting an example of leadership, encouraging technology-based learning innovation, and motivating teachers. This role has had a positive impact on improving teacher performance, as evidenced by increased teacher discipline, the availability of teaching materials, creativity in teaching, and the effectiveness of the classroom learning process. Although there are still challenges, such as limited facilities and differences in teachers’ ability to adapt to technological advancements, the principal continues to work on solutions to improve the quality of education at the school.
