Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of contextual learning by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in improving students’ learning achievement at MIN 2 Gowa. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects included PAI teachers, the principal, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation.  The results show that the implementation of contextual learning by PAI teachers can improve students’ learning achievement. This is indicated by increased student participation in the learning process, better understanding of the material, and improved learning outcomes. Teachers relate the learning material to students’ daily lives through discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and concrete examples. However, there are some obstacles such as limited learning time and differences in students’ abilities. Therefore, improving teachers’ competence and creativity as well as support from the school are needed to optimize and sustain contextual learning.
