This study aims to analyze the implementation of madrasah-based management in improving the competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions. The background of this study is based on the demands of globalization that require Islamic educational institutions to be able to compete competitively with other educational institutions. Therefore, effective, independent, and participatory management is needed through the implementation of madrasah-based management. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included madrasah principals, teachers, education staff, and other related parties. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of madrasah-based management is carried out through granting autonomy to madrasahs in resource management, increasing community participation, strengthening the leadership of madrasah principals, and developing flagship programs that are the hallmark of the institution. The implementation of this management has a positive impact on improving the quality of education, the image of the institution, and public trust. Supporting factors include the commitment of all madrasah members and stakeholder support, while inhibiting factors include limited resources and suboptimal community participation. The conclusion of this study indicates that madrasah-based management has a significant role in improving the competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions. Therefore, innovative, participatory, and quality-oriented management is needed so that madrasas can compete in the global era.
