Upaya Guru PAI Dalam Membentuk Karakter Displin Pada Siswa Melalui Reward Dan Punishman

This study aims to examine the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students’ disciplinary character through the implementation of rewards and punishments. The research method used is a literature review by analyzing various scientific articles and relevant references related to character education, particularly discipline in PAI learning. The results of the review indicate that the formation of disciplinary character does not occur instantly, but through a continuous process involving teacher role modeling, consistent enforcement of rules, habituation, monitoring, and the application of educational rewards and punishments. Rewards have been shown to enhance students’ motivation, positive attitudes, and compliance with learning rules, while punishments implemented in a humane manner help develop students’ awareness of the consequences of their behavior. The balanced, fair, and values-based application of rewards and punishments grounded in Islamic principles can create a conducive learning environment and strengthen teacher–student relationships. Therefore, the role of PAI teachers, a supportive school environment, and parental involvement are essential factors in fostering sustainable student discipline.
