Penerapan Metode Kedisiplinan Siswa Berkebutuhan Khusus dalam Membentuk Karakter pada Pelajaran PAI

Abstract

The implementation of discipline methods for students with special needs is a crucial instrument in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) for internalizing character values. The varied cognitive and emotional characteristics of these students demand adaptive instructional strategies. This study aims to identify the forms of discipline methods and their effectiveness in shaping independence and religious behavior at Sekolah Permata Disabilitas Indonesia Cibinong. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of habituation, modeling, motivation, and positive reinforcement (such as star symbols and opportunities to lead prayers) proved effective. The emphasis on persuasive-educational rather than repressive aspects allows special needs students to develop self-control. In conclusion, the synergy between behavioristic methods and theological values can shape stable religious behavior through the students' spiritual awareness in performing religious obligations.
